What is the Sphero Indi Car Challenge? It's a nationwide competition for students in K-2nd grade. Students are given a challenge to create a themed course using the Indi coding cars. Students work in teams of five to research a topic, build a setting, and then create a path for Indi. Scores are generated based on a rubric. During this presentation I'll share my team's presentation that won 2nd place in the World Championship. We will also have time to play with the Indi Cars, try some challenges, and design classroom applications.

The Elmira City School District was awarded the Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) Grant from the US Department of Education. The second round of the grant specifically targeted secondary education. The Elmira High School Student Success Team recognized a need for vocabulary instruction in the content areas.
