About me
I am a passionate educator with over 25 years of experience. I hold a bachelor's degree in mathematics from St. John Fisher University and a master's degree in special education from Nazareth University. I began my career as a math teacher for 7 years before transitioning to a special education teacher for another 7 years. My clinical experience at the Marie Callahan Reading Clinic sparked my fascination with reading instruction, leading me to support striving middle school readers.
I have also served as an adjunct professor at the graduate level. After completing my Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY Oswego, I moved into administrative roles, including district data coordinator and curriculum director. As a lifelong learner, I have the SUNY New Paltz micro-credential for Science of Reading Fundamentals and spent time with a team of colleagues at Harvard to learn and apply the Data Wise process.
Currently, I am the Coordinator of Grant Services for GST BOCES. In this role, I am dedicated to securing funding and advocating for evidence-based literacy instruction that benefits all students. I am a strong proponent of educating the whole child, addressing social-emotional, physical, and academic needs in partnership with families and the greater community.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy camping, boating, and spending time outdoors with my husband and our four children.
