I am currently a STEAM Professional Development Specialist in Wappingers Central School District and a NYSCATE member. I have also been a Literacy Coach and a District Wide Professional Development Specialist within the Poughkeepsie City School District. In my current position, I coach teachers and develop STEAM units of study, the curated compilations aid teachers through planning, and differentiating approaches to integrated studies. I model the use of Design Thinking, PBL and STEAM approaches to help student’s practice cross-disciplinary thinking and build skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. In addition to STEAM related practices, I have worked with NYU Steinhardt: Disproportionality and Community Engagement, Thomas Fowler-Finn: Instructional Rounds, Eric Jensen: Brain Based Learning and the International Center for Leadership in Education. I have been a presenter at ISTE Creative Constructor Lab (virtual) 2020 as well as a presenter at NYSCATE Annual Conference (virtual) 2020.
